It’s been a while since I’ve sat down to write, and I owe you an apology for the silence. Life over the past several months has been a whirlwind…emotional, challenging, beautiful, exhausting, and deeply transformative.

There are moments in life when something greater starts stirring in your heart. Call it God, the Universe, divine timing—whatever speaks to you. For me, it’s God. And when He calls, I feel it deep in my soul. A tug, a whisper, sometimes a full-on push in a direction that doesn’t always make sense.

Good Friday always felt like a contradiction—how could something so heavy be called “good”? It’s a day marked by pain, loss, and silence. But over time, I’ve come to realize that it’s not just a story of suffering—it’s a story of surrender. Of love holding steady through the darkest hour.

Signs of laughter, of late-night talks, of years spent living. A few years ago, I might have sighed, thinking of all the creams, serums, and tricks to make them disappear. But today? I smiled. Because every line, every shift, every softening curve of my body tells a story, and I’m finally learning to love every chapter.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve heard one message loud and clear from my mother: “Don’t count on anyone but yourself to make it happen.” Her words have been a guiding force in my life, shaping me into someone who’s always worked hard, pushed through obstacles, and carved my own path. I’ve built a career over the last 17 years, starting from humble beginnings at LensCrafters, selling glasses, and working my way into Ophthalmology Management. I’ve learned a lot along the way, and worked incredibly hard to get to where I am today.

There’s something about traveling that resets the soul. Stepping away from the routine, exploring new places, and sharing those experiences with someone you love—it’s a kind of therapy that no amount of to-do lists or daily responsibilities can replace. For Wes and me, our trips are always planned around one key element: music. It’s how we connect, how we mark different moments in our lives, and how we choose where to go next.
