London, Paris and a Proposal: The Most Magical Trip

Published on 4 March 2025 at 12:41

There’s something about traveling that resets the soul. Stepping away from the routine, exploring new places, and sharing those experiences with someone you love—it’s a kind of therapy that no amount of to-do lists or daily responsibilities can replace. For Wes and me, our trips are always planned around one key element: music. It’s how we connect, how we mark different moments in our lives, and how we choose where to go next.

This time, Paris called to us, all thanks to Andrea Vanzo.

London First—For the Ink

We landed in Paris, exhausted but excited. Our first night was all about settling in, taking a deep breath, and embracing the fact that for the next week, life was about nothing but being present. The next morning, however, we were off again—this time to London.

Wes had been following a traveling tattoo artist for some time, and as luck would have it, their paths aligned in London. Watching him sit for the piece was an experience in itself—seeing him in his element, completely immersed in the moment. London was everything I imagined it would be: busy yet charming, full of history, and a perfect contrast to the romance of Paris. But soon enough, it was time to return to France and truly soak in everything the city had to offer.

Paris: Food, Exploration, and a Night to Remember

If there’s one thing we did well in Paris, it was eat. Every café, every bite of bread, every sip of coffee—it all felt like an experience in itself. We wandered the streets, explored hidden corners, and let ourselves fall into the rhythm of the city.

Then came Thursday. The reason for our trip.

Andrea Vanzo’s concert was emotional and breathtaking. Music has always had a way of moving me, but there was something about being there, in that moment, with Wes by my side, that made it even more powerful. The night was already unforgettable, but I had no idea it was about to become something even more extraordinary.

The Proposal

After the concert, we walked through the city, letting the night stretch out just a little longer. Eventually, we found ourselves on a beautiful bridge, the lights of Paris reflecting off the water below. I turned around, and there he was—down on one knee.

Wes had planned the entire thing. A photographer, the perfect setting, every little detail. And in that moment, nothing else in the world mattered. He asked me to be his wife, and without hesitation, I said yes.

It was magic. Pure and simple.

Ending on a High Note

The next few days, we explored more of Paris, but the Eiffel Tower was our final stop. We had dinner at the top, watching as the city sparkled beneath us. And as the tower lit up against the night sky, I couldn’t help but feel overwhelmingly grateful—for the trip, for the moment, for everything Wes and I had built together.

Why Time Away Matters

Life gets busy. It’s easy to get caught up in the demands of work, responsibilities, and the constant push to do more. But time away—whether it’s a week in Paris or a quiet weekend somewhere new—is good for the soul. It reminds us to slow down, to be present, and to fully embrace the people and experiences that bring us joy.

This trip wasn’t just about seeing Andrea Vanzo or exploring a new city. It was about us. About taking a break from the chaos and reconnecting with the things that matter most. And in the end, it turned into one of the most important weeks of my life.

Paris will always be special to me. Not just because of its beauty, but because it gave me a moment I’ll cherish forever. And now, every time I hear Andrea Vanzo’s music, I’ll be transported back to that night—to the bridge, the lights, and the moment I said yes to forever.
